Three key elements of Wanty’s philosophy

As a responsible company firmly rooted in its locality, Wanty is particularly wedded to a set of ideas which it has been able to associate over the years with a business philosophy, which today is both its strength and a source of pride. The quality of the work and materials supplied to our customers, the safety of our workforce and of our sites and respect for the environment have for many years been the key elements of this philosophy.

Accredited quality

Quality lies at the heart of our concerns. It is the most important image and key to the commercial strength of the Wanty Group. This was recognised some years ago through the award of ISO 9001 accreditation. Since then, we have made every effort to improve our routine procedures in order to respond more closely to our customers’ requirements.

To deliver quality work completed on schedule in compliance with the relevant standards: this is the challenge which the Wanty Group faces on a daily basis.

Our technical capabilities are also recognised in the many technical approvals and licences held by the Wanty Group.

Safety is everyone’s business!

The Wanty Group is a true family company and, as such, is responsible for the safety of some 600 employees. It is also responsible for those who come on to or near its sites, whether they are sub-contractors, local residents or users. The Wanty Group, therefore, subscribes to the VCA procedure (health, safety and environment checklist), which is followed scrupulously by everyone working for the company, over 90% of whom have completed VCA training

Our aim against this background is to improve the monitoring of and reduce accident risks. A strict policy on the wearing of personal protective equipment, the provision of collective protection equipment, the regular inspection of hoists by an external company and a policy of safety and fire protection training tailored to the company’s various business sectors, all combine to put us ahead of our competitors in this area.

The environment, an on-going challenge

Environmental protection has long represented a challenge to a company such as ours. A challenge which has to be faced on a daily basis, both internally and in our industrial processes. The sorting of waste is at the heart of the services we provide and has become second nature for us all. A small sorting centre has been installed in our new premises at Péronnes-lez-Binche.

Safeguarding the environment is a key theme throughout our various businesses. Filtration and fume aspiration systems and use of the waterway system for certain types of transport are just a few examples of the care taken to protect local residents around our sites.

At the heart of our industrial processes, budget imperatives combine with environmental constraints in our policy of sorting and recycling construction site waste. The large majority of the waste from the decommissioning of buildings or resurfacing of roads is now recycled and only a small amount goes to landfill. Finally, the Wanty Group, through its various subsidiaries, has the necessary expertise for the treatment and transport of hazardous waste. See the list of the approvals and licences.
